Michael proposed on Christmas Day.
My first thought was my dress so I spent the rest of the holidays searching through Pinterest and the more I looked, the more I realised that I didn’t want a ‘normal’ wedding dress.

One of my friends introduced me to Kirsty’s website and I loved her classic take on contemporary styles, so emailed her to see if she did wedding dresses not expecting her to. I was delighted when she emailed back to say ‘yes’!

We arranged an appointment. I explained that I wanted something a bit different, something for a modern city wedding - "No lace, no sparkles". I was heavily influenced by couture and designers like Giambattista Valli, Naeem Khan and Christian Dior. Kirsty totally got what I wanted from the minute I told her.
I am a shoe freak and had decided on leopard print louboutins for my big day. These were our inspiration.

Why buy a beautiful pair of shoes and hide them!
I also wanted a dress I could wear again as I didn’t want to create something I loved but could only wear once. This is obviously a big challenge for any designer but Kirsty totally rose to the challenge.

Over the series of appointments the dress evolved from a piece of fabric to a perfectly tailored bespoke masterpiece. Kirsty and I were open to each other ideas. I had an appointment just after Couture fashion week and showed her some pictures I had saved. She came up with the most amazing idea for my skirt to add a couture flourish.
The end result was like something out of vogue.
The dress was simple and modern but with a nod to old Hollywood, the over skirt was just a dream.

I can not recommend Kirsty enough. She listened to what I wanted, added her creative flair and delivered something totally beyond my expectations.
I am delighted to be part of the KD Girl family and will continue to wear my wedding dress that was made with love and has such amazing happy memories for me. Thank you Kirsty and team for such an wonderful experience. I have to mention the lovely Yvonne (who always managed to pinch an inch!) She is an exceptional tailor!
